Betty Blue was born on the Island of Trinidad and Tobago. As a child, she moved with her family to Guadeloupe a small French Caribbean Island, where she remained until she was a teenager. Betty Blue later migrated to the US where she was faced with the challenge of learning to speak English as a second language. She has since been traveling back and forth to the Caribbean to keep connected to her roots. Her love for singing started at the tender age of four years. While most kids were out playing with toys, she would sit outside and sing for hours. She sang in churches as a child but as an adult her passion for Jazz became so intense that she left church singing to sing Jazz. This Female Jazz Vocalist has sung in various venues in New York and has studied privately for many years with Enos Payne, Jimmy Sigler, William Riley, Charles Sibirsky, Rhonda Ross and Amina Claudine Mayers. Her sound has been compared to a young Billie Holiday, warm and sincere……The Band members consist of Betty Blue lead vocals, S Brock on drums, J Glotman playing Piano, Jason Peanut on Steel drums , Congas rotating players ,and Bass G Torres. We play Jazz Standards as a Trio or the band can bring to you the sound of fusion Jazz incorporating the Tropical sound of the Steel drums of Trinidad & Tobago .We perform at Private Parties, Cocktail Hour ,Grand Openings, Restaurant gigs, ect...Currently we're working on our CD project.
